‘Boots For Jax‘
The Cause: Raising Awareness and Funds for Wounded Warrior ProjectThe Ride: Sturgis 2015
Dear Fellow HOG Members:

We hope this letter finds you well, and that you’re enjoying a new season of safe riding. For the past year my brother , Dave, and I have been discussing a ride together out to Sturgis next summer. We’ve also discussed the coming end to the television show ‘Sons of Anarchy.’ While we aren’t affiliated with any biker clubs or organizations other than HOG, we are fans of the show.
We understand and support the reasons for Charlie Hunnam’s character wearing sneakers in the show; however, we’ve always felt that Jax should also have a good pair of boots. Although this fall will be SOA’s last season, we also believe it will be a great opportunity for everyone who understands the feeling of freedom while riding to take part in a worthwhile event. Whether you ride a few miles or make the long haul to Sturgis, we hope you join us in making a commitment for at least one of your members to make the trip and represent your chapter. 100% of any funds your chapter raises from now until then, including pledges for miles ridden, will go directly to WWP. As police officers, we enjoyed volunteering for Rhode Island Special Olympics, and helped coordinate the Law Enforcement/Fire Services Torch Run, the sports celebrity carnival, murder mystery, and underwater treasure hunt fundraisers. Boots For Jax will be a much larger undertaking, but, with your support, we are confident it will be a success. Neither of us served in our military, having joined the police force soon after high school, but our father and brother did, and I have spent three years in Afghanistan as an international police mentor, senior training specialist and, most recently, as a close protection specialist providing protection for our U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I've worked beside and for our soldiers and Marines.

Please visit us on line at https://www.facebook.com/bootsforjax as plans develop and sponsors get on board. We’ll also be inviting SOA cast members to join us in Sturgis, and creating a way for you to vote on a pair of boots for Jax.
