    Military Motorcycle Safety Ride

    Military Motorcycle Safety Ride
    Sponsored by Naval Station Norfolk MWR
    This event will be a scenic ride from Norfolk Naval Station through Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake to the Navy's Northwest Annex and back. The ride will emphasize motorcycle safety and riding in formations. The event is open to all active duty, reserve, and retired military as well as DoD civilians. Participants must have completed a MSF sanctioned safety course within the past three years and have valid DoD decals on their bikes. There will also be music, food, vendors, and a bike show.     DOD stickers? Still? DOD discontinued the sticker requirement last summer. At this point, individual installation commanders may still require them but do not receive funding for the program.
    I'm just asking because (due to the change) many no longer have stickers on their bikes.

    I contacted the POC about it. I was told that this only applies to Norfolk Naval Station personnel. I am stationed at Langley and we have different types of stickers that are issued from our Wing Safety Office. Different services have different requirements. Also, retired personnel aren't required to have the sticker.

    yep my base got rid of em too, as well the army removed the requirement for reflective gear during daylight hours.
