JBLE 2011 Ride for Life:
Joint Base Langley-Eustis will host the 2011 Ride for Life on May 20th from 1100 to 1600. Riders will meet at the parking lot across from Anderson Field House (signs will be posted) at Fort Eustis by 1100. Registration is $25 per rider. The ride route will travel through Yorktown and Colonial Parkway. Prizes will be awarded for “best bike” (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) and a trophy will be awarded to the organization/unit that raises the most money.
Riders must comply with all safety standards on the installation, including use of DOT-authorized helmet, light-colored long sleeve shirt or reflective belt, over-the-ankle shoes, eye protection and full-fingered gloves. All participants must have valid ID to access the post.
The Wounded Warrior Project has partnered with the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) Program to fight suicide. On average we lose over 30,000 Americans to suicide every year. We can help lower that number by raising funds for organizations to help educate and battle this tragic illness. Come out and show your support. There will be a motorcycle ride, music, food, games and prizes. Registered participants will receive their choice of an event coin or t-shirt. All proceeds will go to two great charities: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Wounded Warrior Project.
