Clutch cable slips a little on Honda VTX 1300 S
I have been having some problems with the clutch cable, it seems to be slipping a little. When I look at the cable everything seems to be tight and in place. Not sure what's going on with it right now. Anybody ever have a similar problem? My Bike is a Honda VTX 1300 S.

The clutch is slipping? Maybe the cable is adjusted too tight. I had a Goldwing and adjusted the clutch cable a couple of times and was not a big deal. Use a manual that provides the information on adjustment.
I like the tire. I ran a CT on my Goldwing.

I'll take a look, should've been the first place I went. Thanks for the response.

What year is your VTX? I have a 2008VTX1300R and a shop manual. My shop manual may have the information you are looking for. I would be willing to scan the appropriate pages and send them to you if you want.

I've found that when the clutch cable slips a little, it's either time to adjust the cable (easiest) or replace it, or pay attention to the following
1. Clutch adjustment at handle or motor
2. Type of Oil, syn oil will cause older motors to slip.
3. Clutch plates worn out.
Usually when the clutch slips it is one of the above which causes the problem. Good luck with that!

My cable needs replaced, it's pretty worn out at only 10,000 miles. I've been riding a lot of twisties though so it possibly wore out quick that way. I'm getting ready to change out the handle bars so i'll just replace all the cables while i'm at it. thanks for all the help.
