Nice photo. I have only flown in a C5 once. Most of my time was spent in C130 and C17 and of course the Blackhawks.

I'll never forget the first time we had one land at Plattsburgh AFB. What a site. A huge aircraft; As it taxied to park, it dwarfted all the KC-10's and KC-135s parked on the on the flight line that day. Great cargo plane.

loaded couple M60's in them one time for a short flight. All that weight and the plane just did its thing. Took off and landed using short runways both times. The facing backward in the sit up topside was just wild when they spun around on the tarmac. Almost lost lunch. Its just an awesome plane.

Yeah, we get some of them big bastards (C5's) in here at Scott AFB from time to time... LOVE what Wikipedia has to say about it: "The C-5 has a Malfunction Detection Analysis and Recording (MADAR) system, which records and analyzes information and detects malfunctions in more than 800 test points. The C-5 is also known as FRED (fucking ridiculous economic/environmental disaster) by its crews due to its maintenance/reliability issues and large consumption of fuel. The C-5 requires an average of 16 hours of maintenance for each flight hour based on 1996 data." OOMPH! =) All I know is I want EVERY BIT of that 16 hours of maintenance done BEFORE that big barstid flies over MY house. =)

    Here, it's eating a chopper...
