Government Expected to Nix Cost-of-Living Increase for Social Security Again

Here is a link to the article on Fox News

"It would mark only the second year without an increase since automatic adjustments for inflation were adopted in 1975. The first year was this year"

This is horrible news, but the positive side if any is that it can never go any less than the amount already given. in other words if you are already recieving the COLA at $800 a month, but a new amount of only $500 is now authorized, if you have been recieving the $800 you are grandfathered in and only new enrollees will start recieving the $500. Pretty bad situation all around I guess but, at least it won't mess with everyone's already tight budget.

I know times are tough for everyone, including rhe gov. Heck, the SECDEF was talking about getting rid of JFCOM (I think that was the command). I read that it would affect 600 jobs within the command and affect a total of 9000-11000 with the local jobs lost. Everyone is looking to save a few pennies now. I wonder how long before things turn around.
